Wayne Rooney has characteristically promised to give his absolute all to help United win a fourth consecutive Barclays Premier League title this season.
The high-octane Reds front man, who recently became a father, has no intention of letting up on the pitch or having a rest in the coming weeks.
And when asked if he'd ever considered preserving his energy during games, he smiled and said: "No, not really."
"I am sure there will be games when I will have the chance to be rested," he adds. "I would prefer to play but if the manager decides to rest me, it is his decision."
The recent 1-0 defeat to Chelsea means United have gone into the current international break five points adrift of leaders Chelsea and trailing second-placed Arsenal on goal difference.
But that has merely heightened Rooney's sense of purpose for when the Reds return to action next weekend against his former club Everton at Old Trafford.
"We are trying to win the league at Manchester United, which is important to me," he said. "If anything, after losing at Chelsea on Sunday, we have to try even harder now to pull the gap back."
